Revelation Perth International Film Festival and the City of Vincent are actively seeking out three novice filmmakers to produce a non-fiction film, complete with guidance and mentoring from industry professionals.
The film project must be between 5 and 10 minutes in length and must be shot in the City of Vincent, but different documentary genres like comedy, drama or animation can be explored. Using the city as a source of inspiration is also encouraged as its local history, unique community, interesting characters and urban legends provide a wealth of subject matters.
The three lucky winners will also receive $5000 in production funds and an invaluable opportunity to learn all the tricks of the trade - from storytelling fundamentals and technical aspects to post-production and marketing.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the films will screen at next year’s Revelation Perth International Film Festival during a special gala event!
Festival Director Richard Sowada said these films were the real thing and their ability to circulate the international film festival in their own right was testament to the talent and the strength of the initiative.
“It’s utterly unique and feeds directly into a positive and creative community and industry - that makes us very proud. We don’t just show great movies - we’re helping make them!” he said.
Submissions are now open and will close November 1, 2019.
