Summer may be over, but this doesn’t mean your event calendar has to dry up. March, April and May are packed with events. From things for the art fanatic to a few events for the avid foodies, this Autumn event season is shaping up to be a cracker Perth!
Sculptures by the Sea
Date: 2 - 19 March
The 14th annual Sculptures by the Sea transforms the iconic Cottesloe Beach into an outdoor art exhibition. With pieces from both local and international artists, this Perth art event is a must-see.
Shhweat Sessions
Date: 11 March
Time: 8am - 12pm
This event is silent disco meets fitness session. Held at Leighton Beach, you’ll have the option to bend, stretch and lift with the choice of Yoga, Pilates from the Yoga Garage Perth, Group Fitness by F45 Training Claremont, or all three. There’s no reason to let the summer body lapse just because beach season is on the way out. FYI this is a ticketed event.
French Film Festival
Date: 14 March - 4 April
Crack open a bottle of wine and prepare the cheese platters, the 2018 French Film Festival is back in town. Returning to Perth for the 29th year, this year’s festival is set to deliver a cinematic feast of emotion, fun and laughter. We’ve already put together our top picks.
Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest

Attention seafood (and see-food) lovers of Perth, there is a crab fest hitting Mandurah this March. This free community event showcases the lifestyle, location, culture and talent renowned in the region, with a special appearance from local hero dish the native blue manna crab.
Gluten Free Expo
Date: 24 - 25 March
Time: 9am to 4pm
Calling all coeliac sufferers, there’s finally an event created entirely for you. Filled with tasty treats, cooking exhibitions and kids activities - the Gluten Free Festival will allow those who are ‘gluten free’ to indulge stress-free in free sample tasters and new products.
Fremantle International Street Arts Festival
Date: 30 March - 2 April
Celebrating its 20th year, this year’s freo festival promises to deliver the world’s best in street theatre and performers from around the world. The streets of Freo will be transformed (more so than usual) into an open-air theatre for the acts over the Easter long-weekend, with a selection of buskers, cabaret, comedy and circus. Plus you’ll get to enjoy all the local eateries and pop-up bars too. Best yet, the event is free!
