The Perth Comedy Festival begins this week and boy does the lineup look good!
With three Festival Gala events scheduled for Wednesday 3 May (sold out), Wednesday 10 May (selling fast) and Wednesday 17 May, this year's Festival is sure to create a hive of explosive activity at the Regal Theatre and State Theatre Centre of WA. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces will be used to transform the venue into a four-week jam-packed comedy hub.
Tickets are selling fast to the Biggest Comedy Show on Earth the 'Gold Digger', a part of the State Theatre Centre of WA. A mystery-bet, if you will, these shows present 10 comics performing for 10 minutes each and is definitely one for those with a short attention span seeking some non-stop laughs!

Matt Okine
Matt Okine has racked up a heap of awards, including the Director’s Choice Award at the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival for his intrinsically personal show, The Other Guy, and the 2015 ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release for Matt Okine Live at The Enmore Theatre.

The huge line-up includes internationals comics Phill Jupitus (UK), Stephen K Amos (UK),Dane Baptiste (UK), Craig Hill (SCO), Jason Byrne (IRE), David O’Doherty (IRE), Paul Foot (UK), Sarah Callaghan (UK), Larry Dean (SCO), Urzila Carlson (NZ/RSA), Des Bishop (IRE/USA), Daniel Sloss (SCO) and Anne Klinge (GER) as well as four of South Africa's finest comedians performing as part of the South African Comedy All Stars.
Other "all stars" include none other than the Doug Anthony Allstars and fellow Aussie favourites Wil Anderson, Effie, Steve Hughes, Matt Okine, Nick Cody, Luke Heggie, YouTube stars Aunty Donna, Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Superwog, Alex Williamson, Peter and Bambi Heaven, Tommy Little, Sammy J and Becky Lucas.
Plus there's 10 home-grown WA acts to discover including Michael Workman, Squirly, Rory Lowe, Janelle Koenig, Suns of Fred, Luke Bolland - (Not) The Bachelor Live, Cameron McLaren, Jez Watts and Matt Storer.
