Ladies and Gentlemen, the spooky season is almost upon us! A time when ghouls, ghosts and all the things that go bump in the night come out to play.
Halloween is one of the few nights of the year when you can dress up as a moose, Darth Vader or even a vampire magician and walk around without anyone thinking you are slightly crazy. Perth Underground is here to help you unleash all kinds of spooky shenanigans by compiling a list of the best places to be this Halloween.
Whether you are looking to get decked out in a costume and party, terrify yourself by experiencing horror films in all their glory or take the kids to some great family friendly events, this is the list for you. Gather your friends, summon your demons, and join us as we traverse the depths of hell to find out what is happening in Perth over the Halloween weekend.
For The Partygoers:
Evil Clown Halloween Party
When: Friday the 28th (U18) 5-9pm & Saturday the 29th (18+) of October from 8pm.
Where: Bar OneTwenty, Hilarys Boat Harbour
What: Ahh Bar OneTwenty, I am sure almost all of us have drunken memories of being fresh faced 18 year olds attending this iconic northern suburbs club. Prepare for a hit of nostalgia because they have decided to put on one hell of a Halloween Party! If you have a debilitating phobia of clowns then I suggest that you give this one a miss, as Bar OneTwenty has promised over $8000 dollars worth of ‘props, lighting, effects, real life mechanical Halloween figures to scare the F out of you all.’
For those under 18: the folks over at the U18 Project have been awesome enough to organise a party just for you! Prepare for some of the most terrifying Clowns you have ever seen and some of the best local DJs to put you in the mood for a party!
Tickets: 18+: Tickets for $15 at the door only. The party begins at 8pm, but I suggest that you line up early!

The Halloween Bloodbath 2.0 at Capitol
When: Saturday the 29th of October from 11pm
Where: Capitol Nightclub, Murray St Perth
What: Following the huge success of last years party, Capitol are bringing back something slightly unusual again this year; something that only exists in many people’s deepest, darkest nightmares… starting at midnight, TORRENTS OF REAL BLOOD* WILL COME CRASHING DOWN FROM THE CEILING!! (*Disclaimer: not actually real blood). Inspired by the memorable vampire rave scene in Blade II (check the event bio for the clip) this party will deliver something you will find no where else in Perth.
If you are in the mood to be covered in "fake blood" and to be a part of one of the most insane dance floors ever, make sure you head on down to Capitol for a wild and memorable night. Ensure that you put on your best Dracula impression and bring a coffin in case you would like a quick nap.
Please note; the "fake blood" won't actually ruin anyones clothes, or god forbid, hair.

Ambar Halloween
When: Saturday the 29th of October from 10pm
Where: Ambar Nightclub, Murray St Perth
What: For this Halloween, Ambar Nightclub are putting on a party inspired by the critically acclaimed Netflix TV Series ‘Stranger Things’ (see this cool info video imitating the show’s opening credits). The costume theme is ‘The Stranger the Better’, so deck yourself out in the strangest costume you can think of and put on your sleuthing hats, as Ambar have transformed their basement into a crime scene full of clues… Based on how great the show is, this sounds like one hell of a night. Secret experiments, supernatural forces and alcohol, what could go wrong?

Last Night Halloween – Slipknot + More Covered LIVE
When: Thursday the 27th of October from 9pm
Where: Last Night, Amplifier, Murray Street Perth
What: If the standard club scene is not really your thing, then we’ve got you covered! The people at Last Night put on a great weekly alternative club night at Amps, with bands playing live in the main room and a dance floor in the other. This years Halloween Party promises spooky cocktails, best-dressed prizes, free Halloween candy, scary movies playing throughout the club and some incredibly cheap drink prices! If you love live music then this is the event for you, as some great and ‘ghoulish’ local bands will be covering tracks from everyone’s favourite horror show/band Slipknot (Covered by members of Iconoclast, Statues and more), The Devil Wears Prada (Covered by I Know a Ghost) and Escape the Fate (Covered by Cupidfalls). There is something for everyone at Last Night with Punk, Rock, Hip-Hop, Party & EDM tracks being played throughout the night!

Happy Halloween - A Spooktacular Perth Family Event
When: Sunday the 30th of October (Afternoon Session 1-4pm, Evening 5-8pm)
Where: Claremont Showgrounds
What: The Claremont Showgrounds will become a Halloween playground this year, as Neat Events and Kids Funfest bring you a family friendly event where kids can dress up, go on unlimited Halloween themed rides, go trick of treating and get their faces painted in a fun and safe environment. The great thing about this event is the ticket price includes almost everything in the park (except food, drink and prize winning games), including costume prizes, rides, fairy floss, popcorn, face painting ‘and more monstrous mayhem’. This is a perfect place to take all your little Werewolves, Vampires, Witches and Wizards for a fantastic (but also spooky) time!

Adventure World Fright Nights
When: Thursday the 27th of October to Saturday the 29th of October (Thurs 6-10pm, Fri-Sat 6-11pm)
Where: Adventure World, Bibra Lake
What: Perth’s one and only legitimate theme park is having three special Halloween Fright Nights! These nights are a perfect way for all members of the family to have a great time this Halloween. Make the perilous journey through the ‘thrill zone’ to ride Adventure World’s thrill rides- including the Kraken, Abyss, Black Widow and Rampage- in the dark. If that isn’t enough to tempt any of the parents out there, Adventure World’s ‘Graveyard Bar’ is a place where you can have a drink whilst being entertained by Circus performances and a live DJ. Meanwhile, the kids can traverse the ‘Kreepy Kingdom’ where Donica the Witch will entertain them with enthralling and amusingly named games such as ‘Monster Playdoh’, ‘I Scream for Icecream’ and the 'Great Mummy Wrap’. There is also a best dressed competition where a $500 Adventure World Gift Card can be won!

In the House – Halloween Double Feature
When: Friday the 28th of October, 630pm
Where: Event Cinemas Innaloo
What: Join Event Cinemas as they host a special Halloween edition of their Cult Film Classics Series! Any true horror fan will be ecstatic to discover they are showing two seminal classics on the big screen in a double header. If you have never watched any cult classics before, then this is great place to start. These films are The Thing (6.30pm) and The Shining (8.30pm). If you haven’t seen either of these films then I strongly suggest you attend this screening. Prepare to be scared out of your wits; you’ll come out of both films avoiding strange hotels and wondering if anyone around you is ‘The Thing’. Does all work and no play make Jack a dull boy? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Army of Darkness Immersive
When: Sunday the 30th of October – Pre-entertainment from 8pm and Film from 9pm
Where: Luna Leederville
What: Another Halloween special screening, this time by Luna Leederville. Army of Darkness was a classic Horror-Comedy in which a lone man, Ash Williams, battles hordes of the undead after being trapped in the Middle Ages. This screening however is a little bit different; it is a completely immersive experience where the film is transported into real life. Watch as characters from the film wreak havoc through the foyer and in the cinema. Attendees will get a ‘goodie bag’ along with their ticket, containing items which will encourage audience interaction throughout the screening, while the candy bar serves up various Army of Darkness themed cocktails. For fans of the film or those who want to laugh themselves to death, this immersive experience is perfect for you!
