While the end of summer may have signalled the end of Rooftop Movies and Fringe World Festival, no need to fret. The same team behind these two quintessentially Perth summer activities have been working hard to bring back the 2019 season of Girls School Cinema, which includes an extra special Girls Night In movie marathon.
Every Wednesday to Sunday from 17 May to 12 October, take your pick from a range of new releases, classics, and family favourites. Taking over East Perth’s iconic castle-like building yet again, Girls School Cinema’s 2019 season features a revamped bar and lounge where you can keep yourself warm with mulled wine or marshmallow toasting in the courtyard.
For those after something more substantial, Mack Daddy’s New York Slice will be serving up their infamous cheesy pizzas, which feature gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. You can even pre-order your pizza of choice if you purchase your ticket online. The candy bar will also be fully stocked with your classic movie fare, such as fresh popcorn and sweet and savoury snacks. To top it all off, you can grab a refreshing bevy from Madfish Wine or Gage Roads!
For the ultimate Girls Night In, Girls School Cinema is throwing a 10-hour movie marathon on Saturday 8 June of the noughties’ most iconic chick flicks and rom coms - think The Notebook, A Cinderella Story, Ella Enchanted, and Chasing Liberty. The event will have unlimited Tim Tams and pyjamas are encouraged, so grab your girl gang and settle in for a cosy winter’s night in.
