Christmas may have come and gone, but the fun is just getting started at Cockburn Gateway with the launch of its Summer Festival.
For two weeks in January, the activity-packed festival will present Disney movies in the piazza of the shopping centre, including classics such as Enchanted and Alice in Wonderland.
Located in the piazza, guests can sit back, relax and enjoy their twilight cinematic sessions from the comfort of an array of beanbags, deck chairs and picnic rugs. Nearby dining retailers will cater to hungry guests by offering exclusive dining deals from the likes of Grill'd and San Churro.
A holistic experience, patrons can also enjoy roving entertainment, local buskers, face painting, giant grass games and more.
Cockburn Gateway Centre Manager, Alexandra McAuliffe said they are looking forward to welcoming guests to the Summer Festival these school holidays.
“The outdoor grassed area is the perfect location for a pop-up cinema. Our guests will enjoy some family favourite movies and can pop over to our dining retailers to pick up some dinner specials – the perfect way to spend the summer holidays,” said Ms McAuliffe.
In addition to the outdoor cinema activation, kids of all ages will go wild for a pop-up Arcade Zone inside the shopping centre near Big W featuring everyone’s favourite games including basketball, bowling and hook-a-duck, plus a unique augmented reality game ‘Fruit Ninja’. Arcade champions will receive an array of exciting prizes.
Shoppers are also invited to take part in a social media competition by snapping a picture of their favourite Cockburn Gateway experience and sharing for a chance to win a $250 gift card.
A small booking fee of $5 pp or $15 for a family is required to secure a spot at the outdoor cinema, with all proceeds going to their local charity partner the Cockburn Toy Library.
